Roos at 7 for rejigged Stormers in Glasgow

Evan Roos starts at blindside flanker in a much-changed DHL Stormers lineup to face the Glasgow Warriors in the Vodacom URC at the Scotstoun Stadium on Friday night.

The dynamic No 8 shifts to the side of the scrum as part of a new-look loose trio with Willie Engelbrecht and Keke Morabe, who will make his first start for the Capetonians.

The other change to the forwards pack sees Ben-Jason Dixon pack down in the second row with Ruben van Heerden.

Roos is one of five Springboks in the matchday 23, with World Cup winner Herschel Jantjies taking over the No 9 jersey from Paul de Wet alongside the returning Jean-Luc du Plessis at flyhalf.

Ben Loader moves from right wing to midfield in place of the injured Ruhan Nel (concussion), with his spot out wide going to Angelo Davids.

Stefan Ungerer takes Jantjies’ place on the bench from last week’s win against Scarlets in Stellenbosch. Clayton Blommetjies drops to the wood, where he is set to make an impact with Adre Smith and Marcel Theunissen.

Stormers head coach John Dobson said that while training time has been limited, his troops are ready to give it a full go in Glasgow.

“This will be an altogether different challenge to what we have faced already this season on an artificial pitch in the northern autumn,” he said.

“There are a few players coming in for their first appearance of the campaign and they are all keen to make an impact, so we are looking forward to the challenge.”
