Munir Gets Bond | Zambia 24


Lumezi Independent Member of Parliament MUNIR ZULU has been released from detention after being granted police bond.

Zambia Police Deputy Police Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE has confirmed to ZNBC news in a statement today saying Mr. ZULU is expected to appear in court.

Mr. ZULU was on Monday this week charged and arrested for the offence of Seditious Practices.

Mr. ZULU 35 is alleged to have uttered Seditious words saying that President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA would dissolve Parliament on Friday, September 8th 2023 and that he would be calling for early elections.

The independent Lumezi Member of Parliament is said to have uttered the sentiments on September 7, 2023 at Ibex Hill Police station.

Mr. MWALE said Mr. ZULU is alleged to have incited Zambians to start getting ready for campaigns after the President dissolves Parliament.

He said the words have raised discomfort and disaffection among the people of Zambia.
