George Ford narrowly sidestepped admitting that fellow England flyhalf Owen Farrell “got away with” a dangerous tackle against Wales.
Farrell is free to captain England at the 2023 Rugby World Cup after an independent judicial committee downgraded his red card in the warm-up in Cardiff to a yellow.

However, during an interview BBC 5 radio, flyhalf Ford nearly admitted that Farrell was fortunate to escape sanction.

World Rugby have 48 hours to appeal the independent committee’s decision.
