Cape Town – There was drama at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday morning when officials received information about an alleged bomb on-board Singapore Airlines flight SQ 478.
In a tweet Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) confirmed that it received notification of an alleged bomb onboard a Singapore airline flight on Tuesday.
“Airports Company South Africa can confirm that it received a notification of an alleged bomb on-board a Singapore airline, SQ 478 on the morning of Tuesday, 14 March 2023,” ACSA said.
At approximately 11h39am the aircraft was declared safe by SAPS, after screening was completed by K9 units.
As ACSA we will continue to act swiftly to prioritise the safety of all our passengers.

“The aircraft landed at OR Tambo and is still on the ground. Emergency services were activated, along with fire and rescue and the SA Police Service (SAPS).”
The aircraft was declared safe, after screening was completed by police K9 units just before noon.
Acsa said it would continue to act swiftly to prioritise the safety of passengers.
