Springbok forward Pieter-Steph du Toit took part in his first training session at his new Japanese club Toyoya Verblitz on Monday.
Du Toit signed for the Top League side from the Stormers in September.
“I’m very excited to be here with the guys. I enjoyed a full training session and I can’t wait for the season ahead. I’m very excited,” Pieter-Steph du Toit said in a video clip posted by the club on social media.
Du Toit, the 2019 World Rugby Player of the Year, missed the Springboks’ Rugby Championship campaign as well as their year-end tour to the United Kingdom after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Du Toit joins Springbok team-mate Willie le Roux on Verblitz’ books.
Meanwhile, the big-spending club also welcomed All Blacks lock Patrick Tuipulotu.
