It seems fans of The Queen should brace themselves for some intensified drama on the hit soap these coming days – that’s if what actor Lebo Msiza says is anything to go by. Msiza plays the character of Clive and has quickly become a fan favourite since his debut.
Clive is Akhona’s love interest, which is played by actress Khanya Mkangisa on the Mzansi Magic telenovela. Msiza recently sat down with Drum magazine where he spoke about landing his role on The Queen and gave a teaser (if you can even call it that) of what viewers can expect to see on the show.
“I cannot say much at this stage, but things are about to heat up. The brief for Clive was very clear, and that was to look at her as if I am looking into her soul. So I have been very intentional about maintaining eye contact and that no matter what else is going on, to always keep the focus on her,” he told the magazine.
LEBO MSIZA: MORE TO COME ON THE QUEEN
Lebo Msiza reckons fans of The Queen soap will want to stay glued to their screens these coming weeks as things about to get super interesting!
“There is still so much that is coming, what you have seen is nothing yet. Things are also going to get interesting between Clive and Vuyiswa (Akhona’s aunt, played by Zandile Msutwana). The juice has not started yet.”
Long before bagging the role on The Queen, Msiza was an Accounting student at university, but eventually dropped out because he knew he wanted to actually pursue acting. Msiza then became a barber and used the money he earned to attend auditions.
“I really wanted to be in the entertainment industry and my parents were not having it. I decided to do accounting to give them the degree that they wanted, but while there, I just could not stand it. I just wanted to act,” Msiza told Drum.
