Tau opted to leave English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion for Egypt, and has been in sensational form under Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane, with his five goals this season, including three in four league appearances in November, taking him to the top of the goalscoring charts.
He was also recently named in the Egyptian Premier League Team of the Month for November.
Speaking to KickOff website, Broos said he was thrilled that Tau was playing for such a strong side in Egypt, and under the guidance of Mosimane.
“I was happy to see Tau move from Brighton to Al Ahly; he’s now playing for a big team that’s competing for continental titles,” Broos said.
“That means Tau’s future will be brighter, especially that he’s now playing under the guidance of Pitso Mosimane; he knows he’s an important part of the national team squad.
“Tau will help us thoroughly in the future; we will have to prepare for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.”
Speaking to Al Ahly TV, Tau explained how the move to Al Ahly came about, and the role played by Mosimane.
“I always knew him, but I did not think much about it because it was more of me going to play for Al Ahly and understanding that I will be representing a bigger club. And that I have to go there and do my best even though I knew he is here.
“He is someone that I have worked with. He is gonna help me and try and be better for me, challenge me and make me a better player – but he didn’t play a huge role.
“I think there were other factors that were more important that I had to consider, but with him being here, it does help me,” Tau added.
