Well-known photographer and videographer, Tshego Blackie’s passing has sent shockwaves across social media.
Blackie, who’s worked with celebrities such as Lamiez Holworthy and worked with brands such as Drip Footwear and Podcast and Chill passed away this past Friday (3 December) after reportedly getting shot.
‘PODCAST AND CHILL’S’ MACG: ‘WE LOST A REAL ONE’
Podcaster, MacG of Podcast and Chill paid tribute to Blackie on his Twitter account by posting a picture of him with the caption:
“No words can describe how I’m feeling right now.”
“Today we lost a real one.”
“From everyone on the podcast network, we will miss you. May your soul rest in peace.”
Entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela, said his death broke his heart as his situation and death has triggered him.
“His situation and death just brought so many thoughts about how creatives in this industry have to work multiple jobs.”
“How our country is so dangerous, my first reaction wasn’t sadness but anger.”
Mphela added that the reality for a lot of creatives who work in film crews is that they can go for months without being paid for their work.
Founder of Drip Footwear, Lekau Sehoana told Daily Sun that he was heartbroken by his passing because he was an amazing person and easy to work with.
“He was always diligent in everything he did. This is a huge loss to our brand. May his friends and family find peace.”
Sehoana also added that his death has cut him deep because the brand lost another member to a gunshot a month ago.
