South Africa will take on Sri Lanka at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in their T20 World Cup clash on Saturday, 30 October.

The first ball will be bowled at 12:00 SA time.

Both sides desperately need a win if they are to retain any chance of making the T20 World Cup semi-finals.

Both sides has won one match from two games, with their losses coming against Australia. The loser of this match may well see themselves out of finals contention.

The focus for South Africa recently has been off-field surrounding Quinton de Kock and whether or not he will take a knee. Thankfully this issue looks resolved, with Rassie van der Dussen informing media on Thursday that De Kock’s immediate return seems certain, and South Africa can return their concentration back to the field.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Reeza Hendricks played an excellent innings of 39 against the West Indies, and the right-hander is also the leading run-scorer in T20Is against Sri Lanka with 311 runs from only eight matches.

For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga has averaged 14.84 with the ball in this format since 2019. Against the South Africans who can struggle against spin, he should make an impact.
