Bride-to-be reaches bridezilla status online
Reddit is definitely the place to be when it comes to dramatic real-life stories that are so bizarre that one can’t help but wonder whether some of the people behind the posts are mentally okay.
One such person is a young woman who took to the social media applications AITA forum to ask other users whether or not she was wrong for expecting her well-off brother to give more money towards her wedding.
If you’re wondering how much more, her post explains that she wants R409k to be exact.
According to her post, he offered to gift her R104k but she feels like this is too little, especially since he is a doctor who makes a considerable amount of money.
“My brother offered to give me £5,000 [R104k] toward my wedding. I might be wrong here, but surely as a hospital doctor, my brother should be able to contribute more to my wedding”.
“I told him that his refusal to help pay for my wedding is selfish and that if he doesn’t help contribute to my wedding, then he won’t be able to come. We had an argument afterward and I haven’t been returning his calls since”.
Netizens can’t believe their ears
Her post blew up as many Redditors rushed to the comment section to blast the 23-year-old for her unfair and outrageous demands.
Many of them wondered why she felt so entitled to his hard-earned cash just because the two of them are related.
“What gives you any right to your brother’s and his family’s money?” asked @Ice101.
