Watch: Percy Tau grabs a brace in incredible Al Ahly debut

Oct 27, 2021

Percy Tau’s move to Al Ahly has divided opinion but the striker has put to bed any suggestion he won’t be able to hack it in the Egyptian Premier League with two well-taken goals inside 35 minutes.

The goals showcased Percy Tau’s unique attacking skills as in both cases he confounded defenders to make something out of nothing in the final third.

Al Ahly began their quest for their 43rd league title on Wednesday, October 27th against Ismaily and quickly established dominance thanks to their new signing.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos left Percy Tau out of his squad for the last qualifiers due to a lack of match fitness but the coach said he hoped to have him fit again for the November window.

“Percy [Tau], for the moment, is not in the best shape, and that is normal. You see that he misses the tempo of the game.

“So, that is something for him to work on in the next few weeks. But again, he stays a good player, and that is why he stayed so long on the pitch.

“I hope for the next games in October and November; we’ll have a much better Percy Tau.”
