Kaizer Chiefs‘ all-time goalscorer in the PSL era Bernard Parker was all emotional after taking his tally to 60 goals for the club.
Parker won the man of the match award for his brace in Amakhosi’s 2-1 win over SuperSport United on Sunday evening.
Reacting to his new record, Parker thanked those who were there for him when a section of Chiefs fans consistently criticized him and called for his departure.
And before he could even be asked the next question, Parker walked away from the TV interview, perhaps to avoid breaking down in front of the cameras.
“I just want to send a shout out to my people who’ve been there for me,” said Parker to SuperSport TV.
“To all the negativity I got in the past years, thank you to them for always believing in me, especially my wife and thanks to God,” concluded Parker.
Parker’s emotional interview touched a number of Chiefs fans while others claimed to feel nothing for the 35-year-old utility player.
