What Mamelodi Sundowns need to do to join Benni McCarthy and Pitso Mosimane

Mamelodi Sundowns are aiming to follow in the footsteps of Benni McCarthy and Pitso Mosimane who qualified for the CAF Champions League with their respective sides on Saturday.

Sundowns have to win today to qualify for the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

The Brazilians played out to a 2-2 draw away last weekend. This means that they already have two away goals in the bag, to add to their remarkable Loftus record. They are undefeated in their last 12 home matches!

They are favoured to join McCarthy and Mosimane who qualified with AmaZulu and Al Ahly respectively.

Usuthu scored a crucial away goal in a 1-1 draw against TP Mazembe in Congo to qualify for their first-ever CAF Champions League. While Al Ahly put six goals past Niger’s USGN in a resounding 6-1 victory on Saturday evening.

A win by any margin will see Masandawana qualify for the CAFCL.

The clash between Sundowns and Maniema Union at Loftus Versfeld gets underway at 16:00.
