A police officer from KwaZulu-Natal is still missing after he was last seen on Wednesday.
THE MISSING OFFICER WAS SUPPOSED TO GET MARRIED ON SUNDAY
According to police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, the officer is police Sergeant Simphiwe Phumlani Lucas Sibiya (43),
Sibiya is stationed at the Mbongolwane police station.
“The officer was last seen by his mother on Wednesday at his homestead at the Ndikilini area in Mbongolwane.”
Gwala said Sibiya was due to get married on Sunday, the 24 October 2021.
“We request anyone who may have informed that can assist in finding him to please contact the Detective Branch Commander, Warrant Officer Hadebe on 082 459 1829 or Crime Stop on 0860010111.”
Meanwhile, the acting Nelson Mandela Bay District Commissioner, Brigadier Thandiswa Kupiso, expressed her shock and sadness after the body of a missing woman was found buried in a shallow grave on Saturday in Greenbushes.
The police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the body of the missing woman Vicky Terblanche was found buried in a shallow grave in an open field in Greenbushes in Gqeberha.
“It is alleged that on Friday evening at about 21:50 SAPS, Mount Road was alerted to a suspicious house in a complex in 1st Avenue in Millpark. On arrival, police found that the doors, including the garage door, were wide open.
“Intuitive that something was amiss, police roped in forensics to assist. While still at the house, a 32-year-old male arrived and indicated that he lived there. Detectives recognised the male as he had reported his girlfriend missing on Thursday, 21/10, at the Mount Road police station.”
At about 03:00 this morning and after an intense investigation, detectives, with the assistance of the K9 Search and Rescue Unit, found the body of Terblanche buried in a shallow grave in an open field in Greenbushes.
She said the boyfriend and his friend were arrested and are expected to appear in court on Monday.
