Kaizer Chiefs’ Bernard Parker scored a brace to help Amakhosi inflict a first defeat of the season on SuperSport United on Sunday.
‘Hond’ as he is affectionately known, scored in first-half extra-time as well as the 49th minute to give Amakhosi a 2-1 victory which saw Stuart Baxter’s men move up to fifth in the standings.
Bernard Parker’s performance saw him pick up the man of the match award.
Bernard Parker’s goals were his 59th and 60th for Kaizer Chiefs in all competitions, moving him past Siphiwe Tshabalala (58) as the Glamour Boys’ all-time top-scorer in the PSL era.
Parker hadn’t scored a league goal in 65 matches (since March 2019). That was the longest he had waited between league goals in his career.
Kaizer Chiefs will next be in action at home against Stellenbosch FC on Tuesday, 2 November at 15:30.
