SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews has named the ONE player that the club will allow to leave at the end of the season.
In an interview with SA FM, Matthews confirmed that SuperSport United have agreed to sell star midfielder Teboho Mokoena.
However, Matthews said that’s the ONLY player that is leaving the club at this stage, saying they will decide which team to sell him to when the time arrives.
Matthews hinted that Mokoena will be sold locally, saying that for other players, they will only entertain international offers.
Mokoena previously attracted interest from both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, and it will be up to the player and the club to decide which team is suitable for the midfielder.
“The only player that can move, at this stage, is Teboho Mokoena. We will sit with him at the end of the season and see where he can go,” said Matthews.
“He deserves to get that respect. We won’t stand in his way and we have promised him that,” he continued.
“Most of the players we only allow international buyers. We’ve turned down a few offers in August,” confirmed Matthews.
Matthews said Mokoena will show the rest of his teammates the right way to leave SuperSport United.
“We said to Tebza, we’ll sit down at the end of the season and we can all decide whether he moves locally or overseas. He will show the others the right way to leave the club,” added Matthews.
